Laser and Cosmetic Clinic offer several different types of Facial Peels to cater for every requirement. Each treatment is administered by a fully qualified professional who will take the time to understand your needs and provide guidance.
Over time exposure to the elements, aging, fatigue and other factors can take a toll on your skin. Our facial peel treatment options are designed to accelerate the removal of old dead cells at the surface of the skin, bringing forth the softer, smoother skin below. Peel treatments are very gentle and are one of the most popular forms of cosmetic treatment available today.
There are many types of chemical peel, each using different chemicals and fruit acids. At Laser and Cosmetic Clinic we offer 3 of the most effective and painless treatments available at low prices.
Vitalize peel is a unique breakthrough formulation of mild acids that provides a complete, consistent and effective peel with little or no `downtime` and is suitable for all skin types from I to VI. The peeling solution combined with Retinoic acid creates more exfoliation than other peels of the same depth and has a pH 2-3 higher than other chemical peels.
This peel is excellent for a variety of skin conditions, such as acne and acne scarring (both mild inflammatory and moderate); pigmentation abnormalities; post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation; melasma and photo-damaged skin, as well as softening of fine lines. This peel achieves effective improvements after only one peel, with significant results after a course of three or more.
It should be noted that one week before a Vitalize Peel, you should avoid these products and/or procedures: Electrolysis; waxing; depilatory creams; laser hair removal; Retin-A; Renova; Differin (Adapalene 0.1%); Tazorac; any products containing retinol, AHA or BHA or Benzyl Peroxide; any exfoliating products.
Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) or Salicylic acid peel is a mild but deep cleansing treatment particularly effective in the fight against acne and for those with sensitive skin. Salicylic acid is a compound closely related to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) and it retains its aspirin-like anti-inflammatory properties. A deep BHA peel can be superior for many skin types because the irritation and inflammation are kept to a minimum due to the analgesic action of the BHA compound.
A Salicylic Peel is also oil absorbent and thus is much more appropriate for people with oily skin. The acid is able to penetrate the oily material blocking pores, in the process exfoliating and cleaning them out.
Once applied, salicylic acid reacts with the outer layer of skin cells, weakening the binding properties of the lipids that hold the dead cells together. This is the mechanism that allows the damaged outer skin layer to "peel" off to reveal the underlying new skin cells, thus giving your skin an even, untarnished texture.
After a simple and quick 30 minute treatment by one of our fully qualified professionals you will start the gradual regenerative process. A Salicylic peel may cause visible flaking that may last up to three days which is similar to the peeling associated with mild sunburn and is fairly unremarkable. On completion of the treatment process you will be rewarded with glowing, fresh skin, smooth to the touch.
Known as ‘The Physician`s Choice’ a Pumpkin Peel is a rejuvenating, beneficial skin treatment for anyone at any age. It is a powerful antioxidant treatment that can serve as a deep cleansing alternative between other peels. Its main source of nutrition, pumpkin, offers more than 100 beneficial components, including the highest concentration of natural vitamins A, C and beta-carotene.
The Pumpkin Peel has simultaneous actions exfoliating and drawing impurities out of the skin while introducing vitamins, enzymes and nutrients into the skin. An advanced exfoliation treatment, excellent for age management, acne and hyper pigmentation, the Pumpkin Peel is also beneficial for smokers - stimulating circulation and promoting vitamin nutrition.
Fast acting and with no recovery time, skin will be glowing and invigorated immediately following the 30 minute treatment.

All of our chemical peels are completely safe. These procedures have been developed over hundreds of years (the Egyptians are believed to be the first followers) and chemical peels are now among the most popular treatments on the market. You will receive aftercare advice and our practitioner will ensure you understand any procedure fully before undertaking the treatment.
The procedure is carried out by a qualified practitioner who is trained in administering our treatments and carries professional insurance.
Depending on the depth and type of peel, the level of discomfort will vary from none to a very slight burning sensation. We also have a cooling system to help reduce any discomfort.
Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to administer making the peels popular for people with a busy schedule or a lunch hour to spare.
The obvious immediate side effects with all skin rejuvenating facial peels are slight redness and with some progressive peels, dead skin shedding. There may be a faint white discoloration in some areas, or a blotchy appearance to the skin that usually fades within a couple of hours.
Some patients do not experience any visible peeling of the skin after treatment, but the treatment still has a beneficial effect, such as stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture and diminished fine lines and pigmentation.
Side effects to peels can include hyper-pigmentation (too much pigment which causes brown blotches on the skin) and a high factor sunscreen should be applied at all times to help reduce the potential for this problem.
As we offer a range of chemical peels we are sure we will be able to accommodate your specific skin type. Some clients may not be suitable for certain peels. E.g. Salicylic and Vitalize are not suitable for those allergic to aspirin (as the main compound in the peel has similar properties and is likely to provoke a similar reaction). Women who are pregnant or lactating (breastfeeding) should not undergo this procedure.
As in any treatment to the skin, deep peels in particular should be avoided in areas where the skin is swollen or where infections are present. Some peels however are specifically designed to fight blemishes and active acne and will aid in reducing inflammation.
Our skin rejuvenating peels are suitable for most clients but in the case of pregnant women we recommend either a natural vitamin based Pumpkin Peel or a superficial treatment. Peels are to be generally avoided by clients with a history of facial scarring.
Mild or Superficial peels generally need to be repeated weekly to two weekly for 4-12 weeks to obtain a good result, which can then be maintained with monthly peels.
Medium depth peels may be repeated monthly until the desired effect is achieved. Thereafter, maintenance peels every 6 – 12 months should keep your skin looking good.
Your practitioner may also recommend a tailor made skincare regime to help maintain and retain your results.
Post treatment advice is provided by our practitioner and is very specific to each level of peel. In the case of mild and medium procedures you can continue your normal routine without much disruption.
There may be a slight redness with some chemical peels and you may experience flaking and peeling over the course of the following days. We offer a wide range of expert make-up to conceal any side-effects during the peeling process.
Yes! We have treated thousands of men and women and everyone can benefit from a chemical peel, we’ll help you find the right one for you.
