Dermal Fillers

GENERAL INFORMATION

Dermal fillers are treatments used to restore skin for a youthful appearance. As we age our skin loses some of its collagen and fat resulting in a saggier, thinner and older looking skin. To combat these signs of ageing and to restore hylauronic acid, fillers such as Restylane® are used to revitalise the dermis deep down in order to restore skin tone elsticity and hydration. Your skin will instantly appear smoother and softer without the complications of invasive surgery.

Our treatments are effective to fill out `smile lines` (Nasalabial folds) and `sad lines` also referred to as marionette line. We also provide treatments to increase the size and volume of lips.

Recovery times takes from  30 minutes to 1 hour and most clients can return to work, attend a meeting or event directly after treatment making this understandably, one of the most popular procedures on the market.

FAQ

Is it safe?

Hylauronic Acids are completely safe gel particles used in various sizes for filling out lines and helping to give a fuller lips. Approved by practitioners, it is a naturally occurring substance found in the spaces between the cells of body tissue responsible for  skin tone hydration.

Who performs the procedure?

The procedure is carried out by qualified cosmetic doctors and nurses. All of our practitioners are trained in administering our treatments and have many years of experience in cosmetic surgery. They also carry professional insurance.

Is it painful?

Depending on the area injected, patients may find the procedure relatively painless to mildly uncomfortable. Treatments around the nose or lip areas are usually a little more painful.  We can provide numbing cream to minimize any discomfort.

How long does it take?

The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to administer making it popular for people with a busy schedule or a lunch hour to spare.

Are there any short term side effects?

Occasionally risks include mild bruising, redness and swelling that may also occur around the site of the injection. Bruising may take up to 7 days to vanish completely.  Redness and swelling usually disappers within a few days.

Rarely, allergic type reactions can occur after treatment and can last for several months or longer, but this is extremely unusual.

Our doctors are always on hand to provide assistance or advice if you have any concerns.

Who is not suitable for Dermal Fillers?

As in any treatment to the skin, injections should be avoided in areas where the skin is swollen or where infections are present – e.g. active acne or cold sores. Dermal fillers have also not been tested in pregnant women, so their use would normally be not advised by practitioners if you are expecting a child.

Our practitioners will consider your allergies before treatment is undertaken but most people are suitable clients for Dermal Fillers. This is because they are a naturally occurring substance in the body and, as a result, very unlikely to provoke an adverse reaction.

How long does it last?

Non-permanent Dermal Fillers are completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler. Subsequent treatments should require less product and the results should last longer.

What should I do post treatment?

Post treatment advice is provided by our practitioner and is very straightforward. Ice packs and a light pain killer may be recommended for slight swelling and mild discomfort if experienced after treatment, otherwise you can continue your normal routine without much disruption.

How does it look straight after treatment?

There may be a slight redness and swelling around the treated area. We offer expert make up to conceal the effects.

Do men have Dermal Fillers?

Yes! We have treated thousands of men and women and are experts in natural looking results.
