Botox® or Botulinum toxin type A injections are the UK`s most popular treatment for wrinkles and lines.  It is a relatively safe and simple procedure that produces instant results!

Botox® is injected into specific muscles helping to block signals from the nerves to the facial muscles.  The results offer a smoother and less wrinkled skin around the treated area and can last on average 3-6 months.

It can be used to treat common tell-tale signs of ageing such as `crows feet` around the eyes and frown lines and forehead lines.

The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and is administered by our practitioners using a fine needle.   The pain is mild and no anaesthetic is required. You can continue your daily routine without disruption. Results are noticeable 2-10 days after the treatment.

Corrective To Preventative

There are two types of lines and wrinkles; Static and Dynamic.

Dynamic lines appear, when you make facial expressions, such as lines appearing around the eyes and as tension lines along the forehead. At this stage they are much easier to treat but after some time they turn into static lines often referred to as `ingrained lines` that are noticeable even without making any facial expressions.

Botox® can be used as a preventative measure to avoid the appearance of these lines forming. Many younger clients prefer this approach to avoid the effects of ageing.

FAQ

Is it safe?

Botox® is a safe procedure and has been approved by the  FDA for cosmetic use.  Thousands of procedures are carried out every year and there are no known long term side effects.

Who performs the procedure?

The procedure is carried out by qualified cosmetic doctors.  All our practitioners are trained in administering our treatments and have many years of experience in cosmetic surgery.  They also carry professional insurance.

Is it painful?

Most people experience  a mild discomfort.  Many compare it to an insect bite.  We can also provide cream to numb the area if you are concerned about any possible discomfort.

Are there any short term side effects?

Although the treatment is safe, in rare cases patients report side effects.  These include a mild headache, swelling around the injection site and drooping of the eyelid and limited results due to immunity.  Symptoms are usually temporary and our doctors are always on hand to provide advice if you are worried.

Who is not suitable for Botox®?

Women who are pregnant or breast feeding are not advised to have Botox®.  Other contra-indications include Lambert-eaten syndrome or those with body dysmorphic disorder. Persons must be 18 years or older to undergo treatment.

How long does it last?

Repeat treatments are usually required after 3-6 months.  A top up is also recommended after a further 3-4 months to maintain the initial effects. However this varies for different people. Some people report the results lasting upwards of 8 months after having a series of initial treatments.

What should I do post treatment?

Post treatment advice is provided by our practitioner and is very straightforward.  This includes refraining from vigorous exercise a few hours after the treatment and refraining from rubbing or massaging the treated area.    You can continue your normal routine without much disruption.

How does it look straight after the treatment?

There may be a slight redness and swelling around the treated area.  We offer expert make up to conceal the effects.

Do men have Botox?

Yes! We treat many men for wrinkles and frown lines.
